Pre-Course 1: Upper Extremity Reconstruction in Tetraplegia: Live Surgery

Objectives:

  • To understand the indications for upper extremity surgery for persons with spinal cord injury.
  • To understand the surgical options and techniques to achieve upper extremity reconstruction for persons with spinal cord injury.
  • To appreciate the relevant anatomy as it relates to surgical reconstruction of the upper limb.

Pre-Course 2: Outcomes Research in Tetraplegia (Didactic Session)

Objectives:

  • Create a didactic environment to learn and share knowledge on outcome measures and research for the upper extremity spinal cord injury population.
  • Obtain an overview of outcome measures for the upper extremity spinal cord injury population.
  • Obtain knowledge on current and future outcome studies research with the upper extremity spinal cord injury population.
  • Explore future research needs and goals in upper extremity spinal cord injury population.
  • Participate in designing and critiquing future clinical trials for upper extremity spinal cord injury population.
